Trump’s reward for making him lose

‘I’m at 99% approval rating in Israel, can you believe it?’ Trump told Fox & Friends in a phone interview on US Election Day. ‘In fact, if people ever got tired of me in the US, I’ll move to Israel and become prime minister.’

This is a perfect example o’ how Trump, they guy who lost gainst Sleepy Joe in 2020, isn’t the propaganda mastermind some people portray him ( we’ve established that the reason he wins is because Democrats are e’en mo’ incompetent, which is very different ): the obvious retort is to express pleasure in such an outcome. Also, disregarding this article debunking this claim, I doubt Trump is very popular ’mong zionists in America — certainly not the Democratic ones — so this propaganda has the bonus effect o’ possibly souring people on Israel. I could easily imagine an anti-zionist progressive spouting this same point gainst zionists.

No matter which way the US election goes, Europe will still vote no on the US

From The Guardian: “Even if US democracy can be salvaged from Trump, Europe is moving on”. My only major disagreement is the naïve idea that Democrats scraping by a modest temporary victory in 1 midterm will “salvage” US [pseudo-]democracy. People thought Obama’s win in 2008 & Biden’s win in 2020 would usher in the end o’ toxic Republicanism, but Republicans bounced back mo’ repugnant than e’er. In the early 2000s people thought Bush was the worst Republicans could be only from Trump to tell the world, “hold my beer”, & make Bush look like Jimmy Carter by comparison. I’m not making predictions, ’cause I suck @ them, but if one thinks it’s unthinkable for Democrats to win the presidency in 2028, do some minor cleanup that doesn’t make up for the decay that happened under Trump II, & lose huge to Republicans in 2032 to an e’en mo’ extreme fascist that might make Trump look like Jimmy Carter in comparison, they are ignoring e’en recent history. Since a’least the 60s Democrats winning elections has, by & large, only slowed the decay, it hasn’t reversed it.

¡I can’t wait for e’eryone to go out & vote this Wednesday!

The biggest news I’ve heard so far: FBI plagiarizes The Onion.

The Hill’s crystal ball

Well, this election ended early: a’least that’s what The Hill is implying with their article, “The Trump era is over”, which was apparently written by a time traveler coming back from the future when the Democrats have already won the presidency in 2028 with a full trifecta, much less won a moderate majority in 2026, which from where I’m standing still hasn’t happened yet. I mean, I know polls say Democrats are likely to win, & the unlikely outcome in polls certainly ne’er wins — that’s why Hilary Clinton won in 2016.

This is why I’m so much less elated: people talk a lot ’bout how conservatives ne’er learn from the failures o’ Bush & Trump, & that’s definitely true, but it’s just as true that the loudmouths who still dominate liberal discourse also have goldfish memories & learn nothing. It’s impossible for me not to use my crystal ball known as historical patterns & foresee Democrats getting smug & comfortable & blissfully cruising into a crashing disappointment years later when, as I mentioned before, Republicans come back meaner than e’er. I’m all for partying o’er what victories you can realistically get, & can certainly understand if people are ecstatic ’bout a blue senator in Texas; but acting like this 1 midterm will make MAGA disappear just like that is drunken hubris. I mean, it’s an obvious fact that Trump’s still got 2 years left as president either way.

This is especially clownish when you consider this writer’s delusional belief that “virtuous” politics coming back, using Jimmy Carter & Ronald Reagan, o’ all people, as examples. It’s funny that this professor emeritus @ a Catholic university would consider supporting dictators in El Salvador who murdered peaceful archbishops, murdered & raped Catholic missionaries, &, mo’ importantly, massacred civilians to be “virtuous”. But, I mean, he was so good-natured when he was shot. This kind o’ shallow vibes-based analysis that largely comes from pampered, out-o’-touch people who are mo’ effected by hearing a rich person say something mean ’bout another rich person than the violence & poverty inflicted on actual lower-class people is as useful as judging the US’s political future by looking @ the stars in the sky, & it’s particularly rich coming @ a time when e’en Democrats are engaging in a bit o’ ratfucking for once, with the 2 Sullivans in Alaska. This writer forgets that there is a reason Biden & Harris lost. As we’ve seen from the discourse from both Democrats & Republicans, Republicans are no less bitter & defiant & e’en Democrats have only become less tolerant o’ the right’s bullshit. We are absolutely not entering a new era o’ nice rhetoric — & that’s fine with me, because as we saw by smiling nice Jimmy Carter & Ronald Reagan — the latter o’ which was infamously nasty e’en in rhetoric to black people, especially in private — nice rhetoric doesn’t stop you from feeding some o’ the worst atrocities gainst humanity. A much better new era would be an era o’ government doing good works instead o’ just saying good things.
